The AVS Department conducts research and/or educational programs in the areas of cow-calf nutrition, feedlot nutrition, herd- and feedlot-health management, herd- and feedlot-production management, range cow management, integrated resource management, and sustainable management and production practices.

Clientele served include cow-calf production herd owners, feedlot cattle owners and feedlot operators, meat packers and processors, students, allied industries, beef cattle industry consultants, youth and extension educators.
