Dear Pre-Vet Club:

Galen University, located in Belize, Central America, is pleased to announce; we are again offering a two week summer field course in “EXPLORING ANIMAL HEALTH & DISEASE”. We have scheduled two sessions of the course this summer: June 6-June 17 or July 11-July 23.

The intensive course is designed for participants to gain working knowledge of the husbandry and health issues confronting horses, cattle and zoo animals. Students will spend time at the Belize Zoo, the Central Experimental Farm Ranch, the labs of the Belize Agricultural Health Authority (BAHA) and other ranches, farms and sanctuaries working with a variety of animals.

Belize is the only English speaking country in Central America. It is situated south of the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico and next to the second longest barrier reef in the world. It has a long history with the ruins of many Mayan temples and building as well as a rich natural history. Students will have a chance to get to know some of Belize as well as its animal life.

Please circulate the attached poster to your members. They can contact us at: or visit our website at www.galen.edu.bz. On the homepage of the website, click on summer programs and see the full range of Galen’s summer field courses, costs, etc.

We hope to see you in Belize this summer!

Sincerely,
Rhondine Petrof
Asssistant Registrar
